Obtained from foods such as meat, eggs, fish and milk, vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep your body healthy and happy including your nerves and blood cells. Often those who choose an alternative to a meat based diet or struggle with health conditions such as anemia, will struggle to absorb vitamin B12.

Our vitamin B12 injections can help to manage your B12 deficiency or give your body a natural boost of energy whilst strengthening your immune system. We are located in the heart of Staffordshire meaning we are in the perfect location for clients travelling across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and surrounding areas.

Why Have A B12 Injection?

The treatment for vitamin B12 or folate deficiency anaemia depends on what’s causing the condition. Most people can be easily treated with injections or tablets to replace the missing vitamins.

Those with a B12 deficiency can struggle with extreme tiredness, lack of energy, headaches, pale skin, feeling faint, breathlessness, loss of appetite, heart palpitations and weight loss. This is one of the main reasons why we have so many clients choosing our B12 injections. They can help increase energy levels, help the body with red blood cell production, help regulate sleep, mood and appetite all whilst boosting your immune system.

Treating Vitamin B12 Deficiency Anaemia
Vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia is usually treated with injections of vitamin B12. There are 2 types of treatment for vitamin B12 deficiency:

  • Hydroxocobalamin injection
  • Cyanocobalamin tablets

Hydroxocobalamin is usually the recommended option as it stays in the body for longer and is often more effective than the Cyanocobalamin tablets.

Our Step By Step Guide To Treatments

Step 1:
Consultation

At Harley Skin & Laser Clinic, your health and wellbeing are paramount. Like most treatments at our clinic, they begin with a consultation. Our aesthetic practitioners will talk through your medical history and ensure there are no contraindications. You can also use this opportunity to ask us any questions or queries.

Step 2:
During Your Treatment

One of our advanced aesthetic practitioners will give you a single intramuscular B12 injection that takes minutes to administer. Our vitamin B12 injections are all carried out in one of our treatment rooms on site at our clinic in Staffordshire.

Step 3:
After The Treatment

After your treatment, your aesthetic practitioner will advise on how frequently you should be having a B12 injection. The regularity of the sessions will depend on whether the cause of your vitamin B12 deficiency is related to your diet or whether the deficiency is causing any neurological problems, such as problems with thinking, memory and behaviour. The most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency in the UK is pernicious anaemia, which is not related to your diet.
