The growth of body hair is one of the most natural human experiences we all share, whether the hair grows on your face, chest, legs, arms, underarms or bikini line, the microscopic hair follicles that cover our bodies are an avid part of our everyday lives.

For some this hair growth, especially if it reaches a level of excess, can become uncomfortable or unsightly which leads these people to look for different methods for removing this body hair. Here at Harley Skin and Laser Clinic located in Staffordshire, our aesthetic practitioners specialise in laser hair removal for people of all genders utilising the Motus AY, the world’s first FDA-approved and only laser hair removal technology to deliver two gold standard lasers – Alexandrite and Nd: YAG in a virtually painless mode.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Here at Harley Skin & Laser Clinic in Stoke-on-Trent, we are able to provide the Motus AY laser hair removal for people of all skin types and tones, offering a pain-free solution with long-lasting results your hair will become finer and softer over time, this, in turn, reduced the visibility and slows down hair growth in the treated area after each treatment.

The Motus AY IPL laser hair removal treatment utilises precise laser integration delivered through a 20mm sapphire contact cooling tip to give those treated an effective and virtually painless hair removal experience. The light energy provided by the laser heats the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle and effectively destroys it without damaging the surrounding cells.

Our pain-free laser hair removal can be adjusted to work with any hair and skin combination, provided that there is enough pigment in the hair (e.g. it is dark enough to attract the laser.) Laser hair removal is now safe for olive, brown, and black skin tones.

Our Step By Step Guide To Laser Hair Removal Treatments

Step 1:
Consultation

As with every procedure here at Harley Skin & Laser Clinic, we always aim to prioritise client safety and therefore every possible situation and outcome is taken into consideration through our specialised consultation. Talking with one of our experienced practitioners, they’ll take you through the full laser hair removal treatment process discussing the final result you are looking for.

The starting price for this treatment is £35, which will be discussed with you through the consultation as we ensure you get the exact look you are looking for.

Step 2:
During Your Treatment

Prior to your laser hair removal treatment, you will be asked by one of our aesthetic practitioners to shave the off of the treatment area, this is so the Motus AY applicator is able to make contact with the skin and effectively target your hair follicles.

Due to the skin tightening treatment being classified as non-invasive and painless, the applicator can be applied to the skin once cleaned without the need for any anaesthesia. Once applied to the skin, a short pulse of light is released targeting many hair follicles simultaneously, the applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

With the pain-free Motus AY hair removal treatment, you will feel little to no sensation at all. The built-in chill tip allows even more comfort for clients especially when treating an area with lots of dense and dark hair.

Step 3:
After The Treatment

Following our laser hair removal treatment, you should be able to return to your normal activities right after the treatment. You may see some redness and your hair follicles may be raised or bumpy for the first 24 hours following the treatment, however, these symptoms should disappear soon after.

The dead hairs are shed within one to three weeks of being treated and may appear to ‘grow’ during this period however the appearance of this hair growth is simply the remaining hair within the follicle being pushed out by the new epidermis.

If any further advice is required after the treatment is complete, our experienced practitioners here at Harley Skin and Laser Clinic will offer any assistance they can to ease your recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our laser hair removal treatment offers a permanent solution that can achieve a reduction of up to 90%. Any hair that does grow back will be finer, lighter, and softer, with the additional benefit of smoother skin. Invest in a course of laser hair removal and you may never have to wax or shave again – saving time and money in the long run.

Motus Ay Laser Hair Removal is said to be semi-permanent. In a sample of over 10,000 treatments, the average hair reduction after 12 treatments was 68 – 74%. A minimum of 6 treatments is required.
Yes. One of the reasons laser hair removal is ideal for men is that it works equally well across the entire body and has long-lasting results. From a few unwanted tufts to an entire back, chest, or stomach, laser hair removal is efficient and effective.

Unfortunately, we cannot treat hair directly where a tattoo is present. This is because the laser is attracted to the dark pigment in the ink and it can cause your tattoo to break down. If the laser went over your tattoo, it could potentially reduce the colour significantly. Your nurse practitioner will be able to advise you during your consultation if your tattoo presents a problem with the treatment being completed.
