Naturally as we all age, we begin to notice details such as smile lines and crow’s feet becoming more apparent features on our faces. This natural process has become the leading reason for the recent rise in the popularity of dermal fillers, a non-invasive treatment that involves carefully injecting a gel-like substance into areas of the face.

Here at Harley Skin & Laser Clinic in Stoke-on-Trent, we only use the best dermal face fillers available to us, all of which are CE-marked premium products, these are recognised for their quality, efficacy and safety. Formulated from hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs naturally within the body as a cushion and lubricant in the joints.

We utilise these hyaluronic acid dermal fillers as an injectable into the concerned areas, this then boosts the skin’s supply and the dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the skin, diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, offering a natural smoother look.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Really Last?

As we age and begin to lose subcutaneous fat, the harmless layer of fat that lays beneath the skin to help protect our muscles and bones, from our faces, our facial muscles start working closer to the skin’s surface making the fine lines of the face more prominent.

Lasting around six to nine months and, being applicable to most areas of the face that people hold concern with as they age, dermal fillers have always been the perfect solution to revitalising and smoothing skin.

What Can Be Treated With Dermal Fillers?

Popularly being used as tear trough fillers, beneath the eyes, dermal fillers can be used to treat several specific areas of the face to reduce the signs of ageing including; treating moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and skin folds, increasing fullness of lips, cheeks, chin, under-eye hollows, jawline, and back of the hand.

To learn more about the areas that can be treated, contact our aesthetic practitioners on 01782 611001 or send an email to info@harleyskinandlaser.co.uk and we’ll happily discuss what can be achieved with dermal fillers, or our other facial rejuvenation treatments such as our acne scarring and rosacea treatments.

What You Can Expect During Our Dermal Filler Treatment

Step 1:
Consultation

As with every procedure here at Harley Skin & Laser Clinic, we always aim to prioritise client safety and therefore every possible situation and outcome is taken into consideration through our specialised consultation. Talking with one of our experienced practitioners, they’ll take you through the full dermal filler treatment process discussing the final result you are looking for.

The starting price for our Dermal Filler Treatment is £180, which will be discussed with you through the consultation as we ensure you get the exact look you are looking for.

Step 2:
During Your Treatment

After the concerned areas have been agreed upon by our experienced practitioners and yourself, these areas will be directly targeted in specific spots to find the appropriate injection sites. These areas will then be cleaned with an antibacterial agent, with the potential use of an anaesthetic to dull any pain.

The dermal filler injections themselves, while not painless are usually easily tolerable. Each injection will then be injected into its precise location with the practitioner massaging the area ensuring the hyaluronic acid filler fills out the area as it is supposed to, giving the desired result.

This is then repeated in all marked-out areas, of the face with each only taking a few moments. The full dermal filler treatment, depending on the area, tends to take between 30 to 60 minutes with results showing almost immediately.

Step 3:
After The Treatment

Following our dermal filler treatment, you are likely to experience some swelling on and around the treated area, which may also be sensitive, however, this should go down within a day or two.

Within the first 24 hours following the treatment we advise you to avoid any heat-inducing activities such as spas or hot showers, drinking any alcohol and any active cosmetic products as these could cause issues within the dermal filler settling properly.

If any further advice is required after the treatments is complete, our experienced practitioners here at Harley Skin and Laser Clinic will offer any assistance they can to ease your recovery.

Naturally as we all age, our faces lose subcutaneous fat, the harmless layer of fat that lays beneath the skin to help protect our muscles and bones. This in turn causes the facial muscles to work closer to the skin’s surface making things such as smile lines and crow’s feet more apparent.

As we age the facial skin also begins to stretch a bit, this actively adds to the loss of facial volume. Other factors such as sun exposure, hereditary genetics and lifestyle can also play a part in the loose appearance of skin.

This natural process has become the leading reason for the recent rise in the popularity of dermal fillers as people begin to seek beautiful and natural-looking skin as they continue to age. Being applicable to most areas of the face that people hold concern with as they age, dermal face fillers have always been the perfect solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a natural substance found within every person, our bodies do not resist the injections as they might with other types of fillers used in cosmetics. This makes the hyaluronic acid the perfect choice to support the facial structure, offering a supple and fresh look.

Here at Harley Skin & Laser Clinic, we utilise hyaluronic acid fillers that aren’t permanent, over time the filler is naturally broken down and absorbed into the body. This absorption process generally takes between six to nine months, depending on factors such as the treated area, and individual metabolism.

Therefore, when you stop using fillers, you won’t witness an immediate difference. Instead, the treated area will gradually return to its natural appearance.

Tear trough fillers are a form of dermal filler used to smooth and minimise the appearance of under-eye bags and hollows, resulting in a fresh and bright appearance around the eyes. You can learn more about the tear trough filler treatment we offer here: https://www.harleyskinandlaser.co.uk/tear-trough-fillers/

As with any injectable treatment, there are potential side effects of facial fillers. Most side effects associated with dermal fillers, such as swelling and bruising occur shortly after injection and should resolve in a few days to weeks.
