Dermaroller Skin Needling

Dermaroller commonly known as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy and is designed to trigger new collagen synthesis in the skin, leading to younger, brighter and healthier-looking skin. As the device is rolled over your skin, numerous, ultra-fine micro-needles designed to penetrate through the epidermis create microscopic punctures on the skin’s surface. By opening the skin in this way you create miniature perforations that stimulate the skin’s healing mechanisms, increasing production of many important factors for a healthy skin.

What happens during treatment?
At Harley Skin and Laser we use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will usually take up to 30 minutes for the anaesthetic to work and 20 minutes for the microneedle therapy treatment. Immediately after treatment you will look as you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will subside after an hour or two and will normally recover the same day.

Am I suitable for treatment?
Dermaroller can be used on all skin types and even on sensitive areas such as around the eyes, the neck and hands. Dermaroller can be used on both men and women.

What results can I expect?
Visible Signs of skin rejuvenation are seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and continue to improve for up to a year providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.

How many treatments are needed?
A course of 3 treatments at 6-8 week intervals is usually recommended to achieve optimum results. In the case of acne scarring and other scars it may be necessary to have up to 5 treatments.

Is there any side effects?
Dermaroller is a safe non surgical non ablative skin friendly treatment. Patients experience little or no pain, downtime and risk of complications. Original Dermaroller SR™ is registered and licensed. Do not accept treatments done by cheap rollers with poor quality needles which may cause skin drag, allergy or skin damage.
